7-8 November 2026 8:00AM – 5:00PM PST
250 Years and Beyond of Systems Engineering: The INCOSE Los Angeles and San Diego Chapters invite systems engineering professionals, technical leaders, researchers, educators, and students to attend the 2026 Joint Technical Conference (JTC) on November 7–8, 2026, at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California.
This year’s theme, “250 Years and Beyond of Systems Engineering,” celebrates the evolution of engineering while looking ahead to the innovations, technologies, and methodologies that will shape the future of complex systems.
For 2026, the conference will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in person or remotely. The two-day program will feature keynote presentations, technical talks, hands-on tutorials, panel discussions, and opportunities to connect with fellow systems engineering professionals.
Exploring the Future of Systems Engineering: The conference will bring together members of the systems engineering community to exchange ideas, share practical experience, and explore emerging challenges and opportunities across the engineering landscape. Attendees can expect discussions spanning technological innovation, artificial intelligence, technical leadership, and the evolving role of systems engineering in developing and managing increasingly complex systems.
Two distinguished keynote speakers will headline the program:
Dr. Tom Cwik, technology strategist and former Chief Technologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), will present “The Technological Frontier: Innovation in the Modern Tech Ecosystem” on Saturday, November 7.
Nicholas Beaudoin, AI advisor and Lead AI Instructor at Caltech CTME, as well as Head of AI at Addenso Labs, will present “The AI System Model: Creating a Framework for Technical Leaders” on Sunday, November 8.
Together, these keynote sessions will explore technology-driven innovation and the frameworks technical leaders need to navigate an increasingly AI-enabled world. A Valuable Opportunity for Professional Development Beyond the technical program, the JTC offers an opportunity to build professional connections, exchange best practices, and strengthen collaboration across the systems engineering community.
The event is designed to serve both experienced practitioners and those developing their careers in the field.
